The J&S Story
Back in 1962, Jack Payne started this independent tire shop in Swift Current, Saskatchewan. Sixty years later, Tony, a long-time associate & friend of Jack’s, along with his wife Connie, worked with Jack’s family to purchase and continue operating his business and supporting the community.
Since taking over J&S Tire Service, Tony and Connie have proudly kept the shop’s original name, and their commitment to quality service and community involvement. This has allowed them to open a second location just outside Medicine Hat, Alberta.
These days, J&S offers Great Plains College students in Swift Current and high school students in Medicine Hat the opportunity to gain practicum experience alongside the experienced technicians at the shop. They also work with SaskAbilities and NexGen to help get the industry’s next generation of professionals a head start.
While J&S Tire Service continues to provide the very best in tire sales and service, Tony and Connie will tell you their true joy is the friends they make along the way.
Our Values
J&S Tire Service operates with honesty and integrity – a belief system that runs through everything we do. We’re also passionate about the next generation. With this in mind, we provide practicum experiences to students in southwest Saskatchewan and southeast Alberta. We strive to ensure the world they inherit is one in which we leave a net-zero carbon footprint.
Our Involvement
Part of being an independent tire shop that offers the highest quality service is ensuring we’re involved in the communities that we live and work in. Lately, our volunteer and charitable commitments have included the Frontier Days Pancake Breakfast, Ride for Dad, Medicine Hat Breast Cancer Golf Tournament, Elmwood Golf Course WW Smith Tournament (in support of a family), CFL Alumni Golf Tournament, scholarships for trades students, and fee support for sports teams in Medicine Hat. Our customers have given us a lot, and we’re enthusiastic about giving back.
